The India Kenya Chamber of Commerce (IKCC) successfully hosted its Welcome Luncheon & Annual Members Meet on Saturday, 18th October 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM (followed by lunch) at the Trademark Hotel, Nairobi — a distinguished gathering celebrating partnership, progress, and prosperity between India and Kenya.
The event featured thought-provoking presentations from leaders across banking, finance, and healthcare, reinforcing IKBC’s role as a catalyst for bilateral cooperation.
Key Highlights:- CA Parveen Bajaj, Past Chairman – Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (Kenya), provided a comprehensive presentation on Goods and Services Tax (GST), its implications, and how harmonised tax frameworks can enhance cross-border business.
- Mr. Peter Muturi, Head of Marketing – Equity Bank Ltd, delivered an engaging Kenya and India Banking Update, underscoring new opportunities in trade financing and SME development.
- Mr. Astitva Bhardwaj, Managing Director – Bank of Baroda (Kenya) Ltd, explored the Internationalisation of the Indian Rupee, outlining its potential to simplify trade settlements and boost economic collaboration.
- Dr. Anup Das, Group Health Director – Equity Group, shared inspiring insights on strengthening India–Kenya cooperation in healthcare. He emphasized the importance of affordable access, public–private partnerships, and innovative healthcare financing models to enhance wellbeing and productivity in both nations.
The luncheon was held in honour of Dr. Adarsh Swaika, High Commissioner of India to Kenya & Permanent Representative to UNEP and UN-Habitat, who commended IKCC’s efforts in deepening trade and people-to-people linkages.
